07 Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Parental Consent
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental or legal guardian consent. Accounts for students under 13 must be created and authorized by a parent or guardian. By enrolling a child under 13 and creating their account, the parent or guardian consents to the collection and use of that child's information as described in this policy.
What We Collect From Children Under 13 Through This App
The App itself collects very limited information. For students under 13, collection through the App is restricted to:
- Artwork photos and images submitted for class assignments, uploaded by the parent or guardian
- Push notification device tokens, only if the parent or guardian grants permission
- Anonymized usage and crash analytics (no personally identifiable information is passed to analytics services)
Student names, dates of birth, and contact information are provided directly to Hongyun Art during enrollment and are not collected through this App.
No Advertising to Children
We do not use personal information from children under 13 for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond delivering our educational services.
Parental Rights
As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:
- Review your child's personal information held by us
- Correct any inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your child's personal information
- Refuse further collection or use of your child's information
- Withdraw consent at any time (note: this may limit or terminate access to the App)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at Privacy@hongyunart.com. We will respond within 10 business days.
Age Verification
If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
08 Your Rights & Choices
Artwork Deletion
You may request deletion of any uploaded artwork photos at any time by contacting us at Privacy@hongyunart.com. We will complete deletion within 30 days.
Access & Correction
To review or correct student information held in our school management system, contact us directly and we will assist within a reasonable timeframe.
Push Notifications
You may disable push notifications at any time through your device's notification settings. Disabling notifications will not affect your ability to use core App features, but you may miss time-sensitive school updates.
Camera Access
You may revoke camera permission at any time through your device settings (iOS: Settings → Hongyun Art Scanner App → Camera). Revoking this permission will prevent you from capturing photos directly within the App, but you can still upload from your existing photo library if permitted.
Analytics Opt-Out
You may contact us to request that your usage data be excluded from analytics collection. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor such requests.
09 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:
- Posting the updated policy in the App with a new effective date, and
- Sending a push notification or in-app alert for significant changes.
For changes affecting the collection or use of information from children under 13, we will obtain fresh parental consent before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
